SOLAR CINEMA GROOVY MOVIE PICTURE HOUSE

As the Worlds First Mobile Solar Powered Cinema, the Groovy Movie Picture House is entertaining and educational, providing a versatile and flexible big screen venue.

Our marquee is a 45ft diameter round, custom built tent, with full blackout lining, and a coconut matting floor, providing a cosy venue for daytime or night time screenings for audiences of over 150.

Our program of films is adaptable to suit your event. We have access to the best in independent film, from animation to documentary. We can provide a dazzling selection performance, from live multimedia shows to comedians and musicians. Mix them all up and you have the Groovy Movie Picture House Video Cabaret.

Alternatively, event organisers provide the program content and we supply the venue, staff and technicians to keep it running smoothly.For fun days we often screen a family friendly mix of entertaining, environmentally themed animations, alongside classic cartoons and innovative independent shorts. Films can be played from DVD, VHS, VCD, SVCD, DIVX, and Mini DV formats. We can also accomodate powerpoint presentations. Feature films can also be screened at an extra cost to cover licensing fees. We often screen work from community groups, film clubs and archives from the local area.

We use a high resolution video projection system, 8ft x 10ft screen and stereo sound. Due to varying regulations in different areas regarding seating, we ask event organisers to provide chairs, if required. The Solar Cinema is compliant with all fire and safety regulations and is covered by public liability insurance. We require a pitch size of 65ft x 65ft. All of our power requirements are provided by eight large, highly visible solar panels, which charge a large battery bank, providing electricity for screenings during bad weather. At longer events we provide refreshments in our Foyer.
