EVENTS
The Groovy Movie Solar Cinema has starred at a wide range of events throughout the UK and Europe since 1996
Here is a quick look at the events we attended in 2009. Click on each one to see more detail about each event
In association with Diva Creative, the Solar Cinema set up on the playing field of a school in Rotherham as a focus for World Environment day.
The Redbridge Green Fair happens once every two years, bringing environmentally themed fun to the community. In 2009 the Groovy Movie Solar Cinema was the main attraction
Once again the Groovy Movie Picture House was at glastonbury festival, running all night every night from wednesday through till Sunday, with films, bands, theatre, puppetry, live audio/visual remixing and cinema you can dance to!
The wonderful Lounge On The Farm Festival. A firm favorite for the Solar Cinema. Three days of fine music and great food. We provided all night frivolities, as well as daytime matinees including a 40th aniversary screening of the moon landings
The Stokes Bay Festival returned to Gosport against all odds. Four days of music on the big stage, independent films, performances and children's entertainment in the Groovy Movie, and some very strange behaviour from the licencing officers!
The Ruigoord Landjuweel Arts Festival near Amsterdam invited the Groovy Movie Solar Cinema back for the eighth year running. Processions, theatre, dance, music performance and bizarre underground art.
Folkwoods Festival. More dutch hospitality as the Groovy Movie returned to Folkwoods for the third time. A very civilised, eclectic festival of folk music, with Belgian beers on tap.
The Rhythm Festival invited us back to screen classic films and musicals at this little gem of an event. A fantastic lineup of musical legends, and comedy, all set on a WW2 american airbase living history site.
